User interview software that runs the interviews too

Most user interview software helps you schedule, record and tag conversations you run yourself. 8xResearch runs them: an AI moderator holds hundreds of one-on-one interviews in parallel, by voice or text, and hands back ranked themes with the quotes underneath. Starter is free with ten completed interviews a month.

What it does instead of a calendar

The work that usually fills two weeks — sourcing, scheduling, moderating, transcribing, tagging — happens without a researcher in the room. You write the question; the moderator asks it, follows up where an answer is thin, and stops when the study has what it needs.

  • 1.1

Hundreds of interviews run at the same time, not one after another

  • 1.2

Voice or text, chosen by the participant, in their own language

  • 1.3

Follow-up questions decided per answer, not a fixed script

  • 1.4

Findings the same day rather than at the end of a fieldwork window

Interviews that start themselves

A study can wait for a behaviour instead of a date. Connect your product analytics and an interview opens when someone does the thing you wanted to understand, while they still remember why.

  • 2.1

Triggered by product telemetry, including PostHog

  • 2.2

Catches the moment of churn, failed upgrade or abandoned onboarding

  • 2.3

No recruitment round when the people you want are already in your product

Evidence you can click into

Every theme is backed by the passages that produced it. You can read what was actually said, rather than trusting a summary, and send the quote to whoever needs convincing.

  • 3.1

Themes ranked by how often and how strongly they appeared

  • 3.2

Each finding opens onto the interview passages behind it

  • 3.3

Readable from Claude, ChatGPT or your IDE over MCP, with no dashboard to learn

When this is the wrong tool

If you need to watch someone use an interface and see where they hesitate, you want usability testing, not this. If your research has to be moderated by a named human for regulatory or clinical reasons, an AI moderator will not satisfy that. And if you have one person to interview rather than a hundred, a calendar invitation is cheaper than any software.

See it before you decide

Talk or type your question and watch it become a study brief and a sample interview. Nothing to install, and no card.
